ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE PROGRAM
“The classes are intimate, fostering an environment for greater teacher/student interaction.” -R. Mayo, graduate
Academics
There is a growing demand within industry and government for individuals who are trained and educated in the science of the environment and who understand the policy issues that accompany it. The Environmental Science Program at Lipscomb University is truly multi-disciplinary, drawing heavily from the areas of chemical and biological sciences, public policy, management, and ethics. The study of the environment includes not only the study of animal ecosystems, but also human interactions, both positive and negative, with the environment. As a student majoring in environmental sciences, you will develop skills in ecosystem analysis, the fate and effect of chemicals in the environment, the shaping of public policy, and the ethical obligations of Christians in their relationship to environmental issues.
